# Taskaid changelog

> New ways to work with Taskaid, from the app and the assistants you already use.

## WebMCP for browser assistants

_2026-11-05_

An assistant working in your browser can now read your tasks, lists and daily plans through tools on Taskaid's pages, instead of clicking through them.

- Sign in to Taskaid in your assistant's browser, and it finds the tools.
- It searches your tasks, opens one and reads your lists and daily plans.
- There's nothing to connect: it uses the account you're signed in with.

## The Taskaid API

_2026-11-01_

Your tasks, lists and daily plans now have a REST API, with API keys you create in Settings for your own scripts.

- Create an API key in Settings, read only or read and write, and revoke it whenever you like.
- Read and change tasks, lists and daily plans over HTTPS and JSON.
- The [API reference](/developers/api) covers signing in, errors and every endpoint.

## Reminders for assistants

_2026-10-29_

Assistants can now give a task a reminder at a time of day.

- Ask an assistant to remind you about a task at a time of day.
- The reminder moves with the task when you reschedule it.
- Assistants watching for reminders get notified and can act on the task.

## Lists have notes

_2026-10-14_

A list can now carry a short note saying what it is for, which assistants see whenever they look up your lists.

- Write the note on the list's page, under its name.
- Assistants can read every list's note, and write one when you ask.
- A note holds up to 500 characters. Detail about one task still belongs in that task's note.

## Assistants connect with CIMD

_2026-10-06_

Assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude can now connect with a client ID metadata document (CIMD), and approval shows its domain.

- The approval screen shows the domain an app is published at.
- Apps that run on your computer show a warning before you approve.
- Existing connections keep working, as do apps that register themselves.

## Tasks open as cards

_2026-10-01_

Assistants that support MCP Apps, such as ChatGPT and Claude, now show an opened task as a card alongside their reply.

![The task Book the airport transfer as a card, as ChatGPT shows it in its light and its dark theme](/changelog/2026-10-01-tasks-open-as-cards.webp)

- The card shows the task and the start of its note. Expand it for more.
- A task an assistant creates or changes gets a card too.
- Assistants without MCP Apps read the task as text, as before.

## Open tasks in assistants

_2026-09-26_

A task's Open menu starts a chat about it in an assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude, or copies it as a prompt for any other.

![A task's Open menu: Open in ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor, Copy as prompt, and Connect Taskaid](/changelog/2026-09-26-open-tasks-in-assistants.webp)

- **Open** on a task's page starts a chat about the task in ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor.
- The chat names the task by its reference, such as `TASKAID-45`, so the assistant needs Taskaid connected.
- **Copy as prompt** copies the task's name and note instead, for any assistant.

## Read every result

_2026-09-16_

Assistants page through every result, ask for what's due, overdue included, and search with search_tasks, formerly view_tasks.

- `nextCursor` replaces `hasMore`; pass it back as `cursor`.
- Results come most recently updated first.
- Search can narrow to what's due, overdue included.
- `view_tasks` is now `search_tasks`.

## Open one task

_2026-08-28_

Assistants open one task whole by its reference; browsing shortens long notes, and each task names the app that made it.

- `view_task` reads one task whole, by `TASKAID-45`, `#45` or `45`.
- `view_tasks` shortens long notes, pointing at `view_task` for the rest.
- Notes themselves hold more: up to 10,000 characters per write.
- Tasks include `source`, so assistants can see which app created them.

## Find and link work

_2026-08-18_

Assistants find a task by words or a reference such as TASKAID-45, then hand back a stable link to it or to a day's plan.

- Find a task by words or a reference such as `TASKAID-45`.
- Tasks and dated daily plans each have their own stable page in Taskaid.
- When an assistant reads or updates one, it receives the URL to hand back to you.

## Precise note edits

_2026-08-15_

Assistants can edit one passage of a note, keep the rest as written, and won't overwrite a note changed since they read it.

- Edit or append only the relevant passage.
- Unchanged text stays exactly as written.
- If the note changed underneath, nothing is silently overwritten.

## Manage connected apps

_2026-08-08_

Settings lists every AI client with access to Taskaid, what it can reach and when you approved it, and lets you disconnect it.

- See each connected client, its access level, location, and connection date.
- Disconnect an app from Taskaid Settings; it loses access immediately.
- Reconnect later by completing the approval flow again.

## Taskaid in ChatGPT

_2026-06-07_

Taskaid is now listed in the ChatGPT Apps directory, bringing your tasks, lists, and daily plan into the conversation.

- Add and update tasks without leaving ChatGPT.
- Review what is on your plate, organize lists, and work on your daily plan in the same conversation.
- Connect your Taskaid account over OAuth and review the access you grant before approving it.

- Sign in with Taskaid, no API key.
